About Mad Era
Mad Era is not just an ordinary band – it is the musical demolition company personified, from Freiburg im Breisgau. Mad Era stands for modern Nu Metal in its most uncompromising form: brutal, catchy and full of energy.
Winner of the RVBANG band contest: Mad Era earned their slot at RVBANG 2026 by playing in the band contest.
At the heart of the band is a two-voice front duo that embodies the soul of Mad Era. Two different voices collide, full of contrast yet perfectly interlocked, switching effortlessly between furious screams, precise rap parts and melodies that drill into your ear canals like a jackhammer. The tension between raw depth and penetrating clarity gives the sound a dynamic that is raw, emotional and unpredictable all at once. Behind them, the guitarists unleash a sound that swings between steamroller, wrecking ball and anthemic epic. Bass and drums form the rhythmic foundation, which not only drives things forward but hits harder than a hammer drill.
But Mad Era is far more than brutal sound. Their lyrics are a look into the abysses of society, a furious scream against stagnation and injustice. Here, socially critical messages and personal experiences meet – sometimes dark, sometimes cynical, sometimes satirical, but always honest, uncompromising and, deep down, full of hope.
Live, the band unleashes its true power. A Mad Era show is no harmless chamber concert but an energy-charged liberating blow that tears down walls. Spontaneous mosh pits, thick clouds of fog, confetti cannons and the band’s own perfectly coordinated light show merge with a sound that staples the drum staccatos to the walls with the precision of a sewing machine.
