About Brainstorm

When it comes to metal “Made in Germany”, there's no getting around BRAINSTORM. Exciting times now lie ahead: the band has signed a new record deal with Reigning Phoenix Music and will release its new studio album “Plague Of Rats” in early 2025. The new album not only marks another milestone in the band's career, but with two single tracks also revives the Indian theme first presented on “Soul Temptation” (2003). With songs such as the fan favourite “Shiva's Tears”, the band made an unforgettable mark back then that still resonates today.

Singer Andy B. Franck is delighted about the new deal and the upcoming releases: “It feels great to have found a new home at Reigning Phoenix Music. With ‘Plague Of Rats’ we're making a clear statement: with some of the songs, we're going back to the roots of our fascination with Indian culture. These sounds and harmonies have always inspired us, and we wanted to let them flow into parts of our music once again.” “Plague Of Rats” combines BRAINSTORM's unmistakable signature – powerful riffs, rousing melodies and gripping choruses – with modern influences and a fresh aggression. “We're proud that after all these years we're still going our own way and constantly evolving,” explains Andy. “The new album is loud, direct and full of energy – it fits perfectly with where we stand as a band today.” “Plague Of Rats” was produced by Seeb Levermann (Orden Ogan, Angus McSix), who helped the band carry the raw energy of their live shows into the studio. The album cover is by Gyula Havanczák, who was already responsible for the artwork of earlier BRAINSTORM releases. Andy B. Franck stresses: “We only work with people we trust 100 per cent. This team gives us the freedom to focus fully on what really matters: the music.”

It is particularly worth highlighting that “Plague Of Rats” will not contain any quieter songs or ballads. Instead, the album goes full throttle, unbridled and uncompromising. “It reflects the energy and determination we currently feel as a band. We're hungry and ready to really put our foot down with this album,” says an enthusiastic Andy. BRAINSTORM look back on an unparalleled career: since their debut “Hungry” (1997), the band has continuously evolved and, with albums such as “Metus Mortis” (2001), “Soul Temptation” (2003), “Liquid Monster” (2005) and, most recently, “Midnight Ghost” (2018) and “Wall Of Skulls” (2021), has consolidated its position in the international metal scene. They have toured worldwide and achieved impressive chart positions in recent years. But instead of resting on their laurels, they are more determined than ever to set new standards. With “Plague Of Rats”, BRAINSTORM are now returning stronger and more creative than ever before. The album is the next big step in their career and shows that they still rank among the leading representatives of German metal. Fans can look forward to a concentrated dose of metal – and BRAINSTORM are ready to rock the stages of the world once again.
