About Tankard
Tankard, founded in Frankfurt am Main in 1982, are one of the Big Four of German Thrash Metal – together with Kreator, Sodom and Destruction. While their peers often deal in dark themes, Tankard have found their very own path: fast, uncompromising Thrash Metal paired with a big helping of humour, self-irony and beer culture.
With classics such as “Zombie Attack” (1986), “Chemical Invasion” (1987) and “The Morning After” (1988), the band has earned a cult status that remains unbroken to this day. Their albums are full of razor-sharp riffs, furious vocals and snotty punk spirit, always with a wink.
Live, Tankard are a guarantee of energy, chaos and the best of moods – huge fun for thrash fans who like it hard but not deadly serious. Hardly any band strikes the balance between party and quality thrash as convincingly as they do.
